Embark on an exciting ATV tour of the Maras and Moray Salt Mines and feel the adrenaline rush as you explore the incredible landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This tour will allow you to enjoy panoramic views of the Andean mountains, traditional villages, and the region’s fascinating agricultural fields.
During the tour, we will visit the impressive Maras Salt Mines, a network of more than 3,000 salt pans used since pre-Incan times, where the ancestral technique of artisanal extraction is still practiced. Next, we’ll continue to Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory made up of circular terraces used to experiment with different microclimates and types of crops.
This ATV tour of the Maras Salt Mines and Moray combines adventure, culture, and history, offering an unforgettable experience full of nature and excitement.
Our journey begins at 7:00 a.m., when our guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Cruzpata, the starting point of our quad bike tour of the Maras and Moray Salt Mines. After a journey of approximately 45 minutes, we will arrive at the base where we will receive a brief instruction on how to operate the ATVs and have a 10-minute practice session to familiarize ourselves with the equipment and gain confidence.
Once ready, we will begin our exciting journey to the Moray Agricultural Laboratory, passing by the beautiful Huaypo Lagoon, an ideal spot to enjoy breathtaking views and take panoramic photographs.
We will continue to Moray, a unique Inca archaeological site known for its circular terraces that were used for experimentation with different crops and microclimates. Then, we’ll head to the impressive Maras Salt Mines, a network of thousands of salt pans that have been exploited since pre-Incan times and still maintain their traditional production methods.
After exploring Maras, we’ll begin our return journey to Cusco, arriving at approximately 2:00 p.m., with unforgettable memories of this experience full of adventure, culture, and Andean landscapes.
