During the tour, you will admire the landscapes of the Andes Mountains, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and high-Andean flora and fauna. It’s an excellent option for those who want to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy ecotourism at its finest.
No photograph can match the beauty of Humantay Lagoon, considered one of the most impressive natural gems of Cusco. Live a unique experience and recharge your energy in this magical Andean place, ideal for nature and adventure lovers.
The Full Day Humantay Lake Tour starts very early, around 4:00 a.m., with hotel pickup. We will travel northeast of Cusco for approximately 2 hours until we reach the picturesque town of Mollepata (2,800 m a.s.l.), where we will enjoy a delicious hot breakfast before continuing the adventure. Here you can also purchase essential items such as sunscreen, hats, water, or snacks.
After breakfast, we will travel for one hour to the community of Soraypampa (3,800 m a.s.l.), the starting point of our hike to Humantay Lake. After a brief informational talk, we will begin a hike of approximately 2 hours, traversing spectacular Andean landscapes, surrounded by the imposing snow-capped peaks of Salkantay and Humantay, considered “Apus” or sacred mountain spirits.
Upon arriving at Laguna Humantay (4,200 m a.s.l.), you will have free time to enjoy its turquoise waters, take photographs, and connect with nature. Those who wish can choose to rent a horse to facilitate the ascent.
After enjoying this incredible natural destination, we will begin the descent to Soraypampa, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Mollepata. There we will enjoy a hot lunch before beginning our final return to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 p.m.
