OVERVIEW

If you are passionate about adventure, nature and the history of ancient civilizations, the Choquequirao trek 4 days is ideal for you. Discover a little-known Inca architectural gem, on a route that will challenge your body and mind, while giving you spectacular landscapes and a deep connection with the Peruvian Andes.

Choquequirao, whose name in Quechua means “Cradle of Gold”, is located majestically on the Apurímac River, surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Unlike Machu Picchu, this site is visited by few travelers, making it a magical, authentic place three times larger than the most famous Inca citadel.

During this incredible journey, you will travel along ancient Inca roads, cross deep canyons, observe condors flying above the skies and admire the beauty of the Andean glaciers. Each step on the Choquequirao trek 4 days will connect you with the history, nature and ancestral energy of the Andes.

It is believed that Choquequirao was one of the last refuges of the Incas after the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. Its architectural grandeur and strategic location in the mountains reflect the wisdom and strength of this civilization.

During this experience, you will leave behind the modern routine to enter an environment where community, respect for nature and spirituality were part of everyday life. On this trip, you will feel the essence of Pachamama and understand why this place continues to be a symbol of Inca power and balance with the Earth.

Live this unique adventure with us, whether as a couple, as a family or with friends. We take care of all the details so that you can fully enjoy every moment of your Choquequirao trek 4 days, an experience that will connect you with the history, culture and magic of Peru.

TRIP ITINERARY

The first day of the Choquequirao trek 4 days begins early, at 4:30 a.m., when we will pick you up at your accommodation in Cusco to begin a five-hour trip to Capuliyoc by private transportation. During the journey, you will be able to enjoy spectacular views of the majestic snow-capped Salkantay and Humantay, which announce the greatness of the journey that awaits you.

In Capuliyoc you will enjoy a delicious breakfast and meet the team that will accompany you on the adventure: the cook and the muleteer, who will be in charge of transporting your luggage and preparing nutritious meals throughout the journey.

The walk begins with a descending route of approximately 3 hours through the impressive Apurímac Valley, one of the deepest in South America. As you advance, you will be able to admire the imposing mountains Padreyoc and Qoriwayrachina, which dominate the Andean horizon.

After arriving at Chiquisca, you will enjoy a well-deserved lunch to replenish your energy. Then you will continue the journey for one hour and fifteen minutes to the Apurímac river, whose name in Quechua means “The god who speaks”.
